On Saturday, 3rd December 2022, the Wema Centre Trust had the pleasure of hosting its annual charity gala dinner after a three year hiatus due to Covid-19 at the Pride Inn Paradise Hotel in Shanzu. Wema’s annual charity gala dinner event is held to raise funds to support the rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of street connected children in Mombasa. The charity event provides companies an opportunity to support a noble cause and the space to market, promote and extend their business networks.
The 2022 charity dinner, had representatives from over 30 companies in attendance who were treated to live performances by Richie Sax, Zum Africa Guitar & Kayamba, Dj Delph, comedian Lucky Balaa and the sensational Wema Kids Choir, dance & drama troupe. Guests were presented with pre-dinner cocktails at reception and later a delicious four-course dinner (served buffet style).
The host, Amos Githinji kept the audience engaged between speakers and live performances and most notably initiated a company dance off that left guests showcasing their dance skills and competitive spirits.
The event ended on a high note with an auction of the following highly coveted items: Dinner for two courtesy of the Tamarind Dhow, Dinner for two courtesy of the Tamarind Restaurant, Two business class return tickets Mombasa/Dubai courtesy of Kenya Airways, two vouchers for three nights for two in a four/five star hotel in Dubai courtesy of Dubai Online Holidays and two nights for two at satao camp courtesy of southern cross.
