Wemathon 2023

The Wemathon 2023 fun day was held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Butterfly Pavilion-Forest Trails. The 8th annual Wemathon event was well attended by school children, individuals and corporate teams who not only took part in competing in the cycle/run/walk events, but were also treated to good music, Zumba, children entertainment and face painting. This year’s event was proudly flagged off by the Wema Children’s Brass Band who performed the Kenyan National Anthem for the participants after a brief but thorough warm up.

The cyclists started first, giving them ample time to tackle the 21KM track followed by the 10KM runners and finally, the 5KM walkers. All first to second runners up winners in all three categories were captured (adults and children separately) in preparation for the prize and award giving ceremony.

The prize and award giving ceremony, celebrated not only the competition winners but also the schools and individual students that raised the most money and all the corporates that sponsored the event. This year’s awards were presented by our Guest of Honor, Mr. Karume, who is the Deputy Head teacher for Shree Swaminarayan Academy (the school that raised the most money during wemathon 2022) and sponsored by Shankar Electronics.

This year, the school that raised the most amount of money was Busy Bee Academy, they raised KES 500,000.00 taking home the winners shield.
