The annual Wemathon 2024 event was an amazing experience for all who attended, lending a hand to transform the life of a street connected child. The event which was held on Saturday, 18th May, 2024 at the Butterfly pavilion offered participants the chance to compete in different activities along a beautiful natural route. This year, alongside our traditional 5KM and 10KM cycle, run and walk challenge we introduced two new activities carefully designed to guarantee a fun-filled memorable experience, that is, the Amazing Race and Treasure Hunt.
The Amazing Race was a three tiered team building activity where teams competed against each other to complete challenges in the shortest time. In this activity Express Shipping and Logistics-East Africa dominated, completing the challenge with the shortest time of 47minutes and 24 seconds.
The Treasure Hunt had our school going participants competing to find clues and finish tasks with the highest score for a trophy. In this activity we had Venus Tea Brokers Kids win, followed by Busy Bee School Nyali and Kids Zone Tango in third place.
A special thank you to our Guest of Honor Madam Elizabeth, the Principal of Busy Bee School Nyali, who alongside Wema’s founder Madam Lucy Yinda, awarded event winners with medals. schools and corporates with certificates and trophies respectively.
