Wema Centre Trust — Love Never Fails

Wema Annual Gala Dinner

One night. A year of futures funded.

Every November, Mombasa dresses up for an evening of stories, music and generosity — and a fresh theme each year. Every table booked funds rescue, rehabilitation and a way home for street-connected children.

Why this evening matters

A room full of yeses.

The Gala is more than a fundraiser. It's where Wema gathers the people whose “yes” — to a child, to a family, to a programme — keeps this work going. Stories told over dinner turn into commitments that fund a whole year of casework.

Tables fill quickly. We keep the room intimate enough that every guest hears every story, and full enough to underwrite the programmes Mombasa's children rely on.

This year's theme · 2026

Still under wraps.

Our committee is choosing the 2026 theme right now. Old School and Arabian Nights set a high bar — watch this space for the reveal.

Theme reveal coming soon

A different world every year

Same cause. New dress code.

Half the fun is the theme. Each year the committee transports the room somewhere new — and guests go all in.

  • Old School theme — Wema Gala Dinner 20252025

    Old School

    70s · 80s · 90s

Guests came dressed straight out of the disco era — flares, fedoras, bold colour and a soundtrack to match. Boomboxes, bow-ties and a whole lot of nostalgia.

  • Arabian Nights theme — Wema Gala Dinner 20242024

    Arabian Nights

    Dubai-inspired glamour

An evening of desert elegance — flowing kanzus, jewel tones and Gulf-inspired styling that turned the room into a scene from the Emirates.
